I am a rail professional and advocate with a focus on stakeholder engagement, communciations, and the wider value of the network economically, socially and commercially. As Stakeholder Executive and Community Rail Lead at Chiltern Railways, I am responsible for communicating great news and service updates to our local stakeholders across the route. I also serve as Joint Chief Executive of Enroute, the not-for-profit transport research organisation I co-founded, leading on its strategy and communications.

Why I think buses should have names (not just numbers)
I’ve always found it funny that we expect people to form a connection with and continually use public transport, yet we give buses the most forgettable identities imaginable. A fault with the overhead line equipment on Proof House Junction on the Vauxhall Flyover, effectively at the heart of the UK rail network. For background, as most of you will…

A journey through people: Aberdeen to Penzance in 13 hours
Spending over 13 hours on a Voyager might sound like a test of patience, but my recent trip from Aberdeen to Penzance with CrossCountry turned into something far more – a journey through the lives of strangers, countless conversations and fleeting connections that made the miles pass in an entirely different way than expected. This…
